I realize that the sale was "as is". But said it worked the last time it was used which was April of 2008 (from the ROM memory. I had to buy a new replacement Battery and it worked great after it was installed. Not like a calculator, it takes a bit of skill to replace battery without destroying unit.

Had nothing but problems with this thing. Constant freezes, bugs and data loss. This was my 3rd and last Palm device. Swore off PDAs until picking up a BlackBerry 8700g years later. Customer services was ok when in Canada, but the Indian based employees were atrocious (nothing against India - the India based customer services for Dell Computers is excellent). The Palm customer service employees there at the time would answer out of a text and if there was no answer would promise calls by tech support engineers (I never received one that had been promised) or they would pass off the problem or try to blame the customer.
Palms are simply no longer relevant. Go with an iPhone or BlackBerry. This company should be out of business!

I have had my Tungsten T for about 3 years. I would have replaced it long ago, but I had not budgeted to replace this thing the first year I had it.
The main issue is the digitization. It goes out of calibration after every entry. A most frustrating and time-wasting behavior.
When I first got the unit and it was still in warranty I had it "repaired" twice and replaced with a "refurbished" unit once. The problem never went away. To add insult to injury, when I received the refurbished unit ( the last iteration before I fell off the Palm support radar screen), it was missing the four screws that hold the case together. Palm wouldn't do anything about it - the warranty period had expired, they couldn't just send me the screws, but I could pay to have it repaired. Talk about getting screwed. Thank goodness for crazy glue!
I do not plan to buy another Palm product if I can avoid it. Too bad. The products have good features and a nice display, but the reliability sucks and the customer service is a joke.
The unit has other problems, like freezing up once in a while, some of the software that was shipped with the unit (from Palm) does not work and there is no support for it, and the unit has unexplainably lost data on a couple of occasions. I sync my unit every day and after any major amount of data entry as a defense against the latter misbehavior.
I will be looking to a Sony to replace this unit. I expected to get three years out of it and we're just about there. Anyone want a used Palm Tungsten T? Guaranteed to drive you nuts!

this is not my first palm pda. i purchased this one because of the small form factor, the extended memory, and the sd card slot. also, there was a Veo digital camera offer :-). The palm fits the hand extremely well, especially smaller hands like a woman. The slider function to unveil the graffiti area works smoothly, but one can install Jot or other programs which allow you to write on the screen itself rather than restrict you to the graffiti area. This means you don't need to extend the screen if inconvenient. The screen itself is very sharp and bright. The only issue with this handheld is that buttons will easily turn it on if touched, even if not intended. Do not put this in a case or your pocket where it will be pressed. I highly recommend a hard aluminum case to prevent accidental button pushes (and battery depletion). Other than this issue (which can also be dealt with by using software to block the buttons from turning on the pda), this is a great unit. Bluetooth included, voice recorder, plays mp3 and video.
