A reprieve for a few years - as Palm no longer makes PDAs. This refurbished TX helps me keep organized with appointments and contacts without the necessity of an un-needed data plan or "smart" phone. Sometimes simple is better.

I like this product overall but I am having trouble powering it off, as the only way to do so is via the power button at the top. My PDA has no scratches and usually roams around my front pocket. I have talked with other users of this PDA and they have complained about the same problem. I haven't tried Palm customer support, but i'm assuming they'll refer me to the poeple I purchased it from. It seems more like a design flaw than anything else. I just thought I'd give others a heads up. I purchased this Palm from a reseller for about a decent chunk of change. It's a great overall PDA. However, the power button is flimsy. I have not dropped it or anything. It's just slow to respond. My first TX, the power button stopped responding within about 3 weeks. The people I ordered it from were nice and replaced it. I'm on my third TX and have been noticing the same problem again after 4 months, although eventualy I can get the button to work if I keep pushing. I can turn the palm on with any of the buttons at the bottom, but that brings me to whatever preset program that is assocaited with it.

You'd think that a company with as much experience with touch screens as Palm,
would make them usable. Not so with the tx. First one developed dead spots almost Immediately
then came the calibration errors. This piece of junk cannot be accurately. No difference
after they replaced the screen and the on off switch. I went through their tech service
department and they kept wanting me to hard reset and that didn't help. I can tell em it's a
software flaw, but they don't admit it. Guess they'd rather have disgruntled customers.
Even if you're a palm addict... bypass this offering. It's a waste of good money and
almost useless.

I have owned my palm for several years now and have never had any problem with it's software. I have read other reviews stating that this particular system is known for crashing with a complete loss of information. This has never happened since I have owned this product. I currently use it daily at work with the program epocrates - it has never let me down. I have even dropped the palm several times without damage, although I do have mine wrapped in a stainless steel rhino skin cover. After several years, I feel that I made a great purchase - even if my TX dies tomorrow.

Works as expected, arrived in great shape as stated. It replaced a life drive that was failing.
It took a bit of reasearch to get it to work with Windows 7 64 bit.
